Master Class PhotoDakota Sky is pleased to announce the 2012 edition of the Dakota Sky Young Artist Program. The program is an intensive summer music session for pre-college and college pianists, limited to seven participants.

The Dakota Sky Young Artist Program is designed to provide an intimate environment for learning and growth. During their two-week experience, young artists will be challenged with an intense schedule, simulating the demands of professional life as a musician.

Each student will perform in three private lessons with guest artists, three solo master classes, a chamber-music master class, and a chamber-music coaching session. They will participate in discussion-based classes with artist faculty, away from the piano, meant to encourage musical and intellectual growth in a challenging, rewarding environment. Additionally, participants will have two performance opportunities: the first will feature chamber-music excerpts with members of our resident Delphi Trio, and the second will feature solo performances, all on the stage of the Festival’s main performance venue, the Belbas Theater.

A very special component of the Young Artist Program will include scheduled social engagements between the participants and Dakota Sky guest artists. These engagements will provide a rare opportunity for the participants to interact with, learn from, and be inspired by the guest artists in an informal, intimate environment. Such social engagements form an integral part of the learning experience for program participants.
